As early as 1196, the Stainpach bei Gomelitz (Steinbach bei Gamlitz) site was mentioned in documentation by the Benedictine monastery of St. Paul in Lavanttal. In the millenium since, the area has become renowned for producing some of the most sought-after white wine grapes around due to its unique microclimate.

When Domaine Wolf took custodianship of the area we rejuvenated these precious plots to ensure extraordinary soil quality. Today our Pinot Gris, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc vineyards benefit from fantastic sun exposure, superb soil and continual cooling wind currents which means a long vegetation phase. We have since significantly re-invested to construct a new state-of-the-art cellar at our Hoch Sernau site.

We work with the young local winemaker Reinhard Muster - and have given him access to the uncompromising resources and grapes necessary to push the craft - over the past years this has resulted in the production of some of the very best wines in the world.

The result for Domaine Wolf is some of the most wonderfully mature and flavourful wines to develop in Austria. This is superb white wine that has it's own distinctly unforgettable characteristics - perfect with any type of sophisticated cuisine they are paired with.
